Morada Bay Beach Cafe Morada Bay Beach Cafe on Urbanspoon

This lovely bayside bistro offers superfresh, innovative seafood as well as more basic offerings, such as chicken salads, fajitas, and hamburgers. Salads such as the Sunshine Salad are large and lavished with slices of avocado, mango, and tomato. When in season, delicious raw oysters are imported from Long Island. Fish dishes are always fresh and served in a number of styles; I like mine jerked with a peppery coating and nearly black finish. If you can't decide, share a few items from the tapas menu: jumbo shrimp cocktails, fried calamari, conch fritters, smoked fish dip, or a charcuterie of sausage and ham on country bread. Located at the same address is Pierre's Restaurant (tel. 305/664-3225), a New-World cuisine fine-dining restaurant that's a bit pricier (main courses $24-$37), but worth a splurge."– Frommer's South Florida including Miami and Keys, 4th Edition"Tranquil Bay side setting... tropical yet sophisticated ambiance... exquisite cuisine and unparalleled service. Read the newspaper or watch the serene bay while caressed by the soft breeze... Truly a hidden jewel away from the mundane... You won't want to leave."– Johanna Suarez - West Palm Beach, YAHOO Travel Overall Rating: "Morada Bay is an escape, a casually elegant enclave rarely found in these parts. A surprisingly tasteful, vintage surfboard motif in the high-ceilinged main dining room opens onto a constructed beach overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Sit outside on the terrace to drink in the Gulf breezes. Luxuriate barefoot with cocktails in a reclined wooden lawn chair, and cool your toes in the water. Often the catch of the day, grouper may be seared in cumin and served with a papaya-avocado salsa or with a curry sauce. Generously pouring well-selected wines by the glass helps set Morada Bay apart from the myriad touristy seafood eateries that crowd tiny Islamorada. The waitstaff members may seem more sociable than professional, but their laid-back approach is hardly inappropriate here."– GAYOT.com

Our Guests Say..

"Bring Your Date Here — I just got back from Florida, and I was at some very swank restaurants in Miami but Morada Bay is by far is the nicest place I've ever been! The food is amazing and the view is breathtaking to put it lightly. The tiki-style dining area on the beach is beautiful (especially at night with a nice female). This place will score you some serious points, fellas, and on top of that, the New York striploin is the best steak I've had. This place is amazing. It is well worth the money."

"Unmatched — I'm from Miami and brought the family here this past week. All I have to say is that this place goes unmatched for beachfront restaurants. I am 71 years of age and have been all over both coasts including the Pacific Coast highway, but this restaurant clearly topped all the places I have been. All I can say is that everyone should be blessed to have eaten here with family and friends at least once in their lifetime."

"Romance in Paradise — We were vacationing in the Key West and stumbled upon the Morada Bay Restaurant by accident. What a wonderful surprise! The romance of the setting sun on a beautiful white sandy beach with live music and delicious entrees was nothing short of paradise. We both felt that we had discovered paradise – Morada Bay Restaurant is the most beautiful spot. It would be difficult, if not impossible, to find a more romantic, breathtaking location to share with someone special!"

"This is one of my favorite restaurants in Florida. I go very often with my wife and with my three young kids. The kids have a lot of fun playing with the glow sticks on the beach, while my wife and I enjoy the live music (folk rock). After we finish our initial drinks which are served in a mason jar, we sit down for dinner while still listening to the music and watching the kids have a great time. I enjoy almost all of the food on the menu. A must if you like great food, great atmosphere, a lot of fun. Do not go here if you prefer fried food or cheap beer."

"We visit Islamorada every year, and we always go to Morada Bay at least two or three times. This is a simply beautiful location, with virtually all seating outside on a palm-covered beach and patio. Morada Bay's views and sunsets are what the Keys are all about. It has a good, eclectic menu for lunch and dinner, and you will not be unhappy. It can get crowded at dinner and noisy, especially on Friday and Saturday. That said, it is a great place for families. Don't overlook lunches: the menu is excellent, and it is less crowded. But be sure you are in the shade after March 1st!"

... About Our Events

"It was a wonderful, beautiful, stress-free day — the setting, the food, the friendliness of the staff.  ... a day that was rumored to be stressful the complete opposite for me!"

"Just wanted to let you know how wonderful our corporate retreat party was.  Everyone came up to me afterwards and said it was an amazing night.  Amazing service, food, ambiance, etc.  I got so many thank-you’s for putting it together but the real thanks should go to you.  ... your staff did a tremendous job."

"Attention to detail was certainly noticed — the flowers, the decorations, the weather, the specialty drink, the table settings, the food… Everything was perfect! We joke that we must be the only people in the world who wouldn’t change anything about their wedding."

"Your places were remarkable. The two best dinners we had were at Morada Bay Beach Café on the beach, and of course at Pierre’s, so I am glad we saved the best for last.  The food was just outstanding, the rants and raves that I heard about your locations did come true!  I really appreciate all your help and attention to detail and courtesy."

"The day of the wedding went far beyond our expectations.  I dropped my bouquet somewhere after the ceremony, and later found someone had put it in water for safekeeping.  Used plates and glasses were instantly whisked away, and our napkins were magically re-folded every time we left our seats.  We were thrilled when the waiter brought an array of hors d’oeuvres we had been too busy to try (and thanks for specially saving a platter for us!)"

"Can’t thank you enough for helping us to plan such a wonderful rehearsal dinner. The whole experience was absolutely amazing.  Our guests are still raving about it."

"I have looked at lots of thank-you cards but they don’t say enough for the peace of mind I had at my daughter’s wedding. I have had so many compliments on how smoothly everything went, how wonderful the food was, how elegant the tables looked and how it was such a joyous, emotional, and special wedding ceremony.  (The staff) created such a relaxed atmosphere, and I know from previous party experience how much you were doing to make it “feel” so easy and relaxed."

"Everything was perfect.  Thanks so much to you and your staff.  Your professionalism and attention to every detail is greatly appreciated.  Everyone was raving about the wonderful food and the beautiful backdrop."
